Indiana Addus workers ratify first contract

Home care aides in Seymour and Lafayette, Indiana, made history on Sept. 8th and 9th by unanimously voting to approve their first contract—becoming the first home care agency workers in Indiana to unite in SEIU Healthcare!
Addus workers’ new contract includes higher starting wages, annual seniority raises, increased mileage and time in travel rates, seven paid holidays, paid vacation for aides working more than 35 hours per week, and more.
Indiana Addus workers are not only taking their first steps to improve their state’s home care system—they’re uniting with more than 5,000 Addus home care workers in Illinois and tens of thousands of Addus home care workers nationally who are united in SEIU.

We made good strides by winning the first union contract at an agency in the state of Indiana. This victory is one small step for our union and one giant leap for all Hoosier home care aides.
