Healthcare Workers Stronger Together in SEIU Joint Bargaining Council
Workers begin to set priorites at first meeting

On July 17, Cook County Bureau of Health Systems workers united with County public workers for our first-ever SEIU Joint Bargaining Council meeting. Bargaining Council members broke into subcommittees to discuss and then set bargaining priorities for the negotiating team. Direct care providers, technicians, dietary and building care workers developed ideas about the major themes that need to be addressed by the negotiating committee when formal talks begin.
By uniting the strength of more than 4,000 Cook County workers, the SEIU Joint Bargaining Council will increase the voice of all workers in upcoming negotiations.
